Donna Dwyre and her sister Lori Apgar along with their brother Tommie Freda are co-owners of Cove Carpet One Floor & Home inSummit,NJ. Their family is no stranger to the world of breast cancer.
In 1993 Donna was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer. Then, in 2005, Lori was also diagnosed. While seeking treatment, Lori’s doctor recommended that Donna take a new test that was available and caught a re-occurrence of breast cancer in Donna that would have otherwise gone undetected.
In addition to fighting their own battles against breast cancer, Donna and Lori have actively helped other women through sharing their own stories and advice. They are also active with the North Jersey Susan G. Komen for the Cure® organization and Cove Carpet One shows their support with a special pink ribbon carpet for the Race for the Cure and their own team.
For their dedication to the cause and their bravery in fighting the disease, Donna and Lori have been awarded the 2012 Susan G. Komen North Jersey Journeys of Courage Award.
