Carpet removed from homes in the Strathroy area can now be recycled. Hamstra Carpet One Floor & Home sends their used carpet to recycling company in Mississauga that is equipped to handle such material. Most used carpet ends up in a landfill. Recycling carpet can make a big impact on the amount of trash in the landfills. Hamstra Carpet One Floor & Home accepts used carpet drop offs by appointment only and there is a nominal fee attached to the service.
The carpet will be sent to Aspera Recycling -- sustainable carpet waste diversion solutions. Founded in 2009, its mission is to work with government and industry to find sustainable solutions for diverting carpet from landfill.
