As part of the 2021 holiday season, Buddy Allen Carpet One Floor & Home raised $2,574 for a local nonprofit organization, Dreams and Wishes of Tennessee. Dreams and Wishes of Tennessee is an organization based in Tennessee that grants wishes to individuals between the ages of five and twenty one that have relapsed from cancer. They also grant wishes to young adults that have a new cancer diagnosis.
So how was Buddy Allen Carpet One able to accomplish this? With a little help from the community and some creativity, the team at Buddy Allen came up with a simple way to raise money. They decided to purchase five hundred dollars’ worth of gift cards, along with five hundred dollars’ worth of predator’s tickets, and some Buddy Allen swag to put under their tree.
They asked the community to come in and purchase these gifts in order to donate the proceeds. And this year was unlike any other - along with taking the value of the gifts to make a donation, they decided to take payment for the swag as well.
During the timeframe allotted, the community came together in a big way. While there were many who came in for the gifts, there were also people who came in and simply donated money to help Dreams and Wishes. Overall, the team was able to make a great impact with a final donation amount of $2,574!
